MEMORIES OF MOUNT ROYAL \u00bb<\/h4>\n<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday,<strong> April 20 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m<\/strong>., Daniel Chartier, landscape architect, will offer the conference \u201cStageing Mount Royal\u201d. It will address the mosaic of landscapes of the Mountain, their genesis and their future. It will emphasize the vision of Frederick Law Olmstead and the exceptional legacy that results from it. Admission is $15.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, <strong>May 4 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m<\/strong>., Denise Caron, historian, will offer the guided tour \u201cThe evolution of the territory and landscapes of Jeanne-Mance Park and C\u00f4te Placide since the concession of the Terre de la Providence\u201d. This visit invites you to follow the evolution of this territory on site from the first permanent organizations to the present day. A place will be given to the actors who played a decisive role in this emblematic place. The entrance ticket costs $20.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;20px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h4>HIKES AND FUNERAL ART TOURS<\/h4>\n<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] <strong>Starting May 18<\/strong>, the guided tour Exploring the therapeutic value of Mount Royal will take visitors from the Jardin des Hospitali\u00e8res to the Camillien-Houde belvedere, passing through the eastern side of Mount Royal Park. The circuit will be offered once a month until October, in collaboration with Friends of the Mountain.<\/p>\n<p>Other tours, guided by Myriam Cloutier, director of heritage programs at Mount Royal Cemetery, and by Steven Lapidus, lecturer at Concordia University in the Canadian Jewish Studies department, will introduce you to the funerary heritage of Mount Royal, including Jewish cemeteries and the Mont-Royal cemetery, opened in 1852 by the Protestant community of Montreal. It has been designated a national historic site of Canada. Its rural layout and natural environment are inspired by that of rural cemeteries erected in France and the United States at the beginning of the 19th century. There are around a hundred species of native and exotic trees as well as 145 species of birds. [\/vc_column_text]<span style=\"color: #808080;\">[vc_empty_space height=&#8221;20px&#8221;]<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\">[vc_row][vc_column]<a itemprop=\"url\" href=\"https:\/\/dev.museedeshospitalieres.qc.ca\/programmation-associee-a-notre-montagne-memoires-du-mont-royal\/\" target=\"_blank\"  class=\"eltdf-btn eltdf-btn-medium eltdf-btn-outline-slit\"  >\n    <span class=\"eltdf-btn-text\">Learn more about activities<\/span>\n    <\/a>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;40px&#8221;]<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>GUIDED TOURS OF THE GARDEN (HISTORICAL AND MUSICAL)<\/h4>\n<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Guided tours will start on June 1, 2024! .<\/p>\n<p>Every Sunday morning, visit the \u201csecret\u201d garden of the monastery of the Hospitaller Sisters of Saint-Joseph, a true oasis of peace hidden behind an imposing stone enclosure in the heart of the city. Discover the history of the garden, from the nurturing land of 1861 to the pleasure garden we know today. You will also learn about the history of the heritage buildings of the H\u00f4tel-Dieu. Once a month, the Museum will offer the tour in English!<\/p>\n<p>One Sunday a month, come and enjoy a unique experience with musical tours of the garden. Carried out in collaboration with S\u00e9r\u00e9nit\u00e9 Sonore, the visits will begin with a concert of songs by Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179) performed by Rebecca Bain in the chapel of the Immaculate Conception located in the heart of the garden, which will be followed by a historical visit.
